Using a pickling process on raw metal surfaces is not making them look nice and clean. Rather, it is the process of resetting the surface of metal prior to doing any serious treatment to it. As long as you leave scale and oxides on steel, every subsequent step will be performed unsuccessfully. Our pickling chemicals are designed to remove all forms of oxide layers and surface contamination from steel without eating into the base metal. This will work on pre-painted sheet metal, pre-fabricated pipe, pre-fabricated frame and pre-machined parts prior to performing phosphate coatings, passivation and other coatings. By following bath crests and times established for proper strength of chemicals, you will achieve controlled reactions. Before any shipment leaves our plant, we ensure that the raw materials in each batch have been internally tested for performance. However, performance does depend upon the ability of the line to run efficiently. If you experience black stains on product or metal looks dull, we will assist you in determining the proper ratio of acid to product, and appropriate immersion time. The majority of problems that result in improper cleaning are due to the existence of old pickling baths, or lack of proper rinsing of the cleaned part. Chemistry will only work if there is control of the process.
